David Lester - Powell County High School

This is the start of my 19th year of teaching and I plan for it to be a wonderful new year of learning science. I believe that if you have to learn science, and we all do, then you should have a little fun doing it.

Before we get into too much science I want to share a little bit of info about me that everyone always wants to know. I am originally from Pike County Kentucky in a little town called Phelps, just about as far East as you can go with out going into West Virginia or Virginia. I graduated from Phelps High School and attended Morehead State University, from which I graduated in 1995. I taught 1 year in Lee county, then thankfully found my career here in Powell County, which is where I have been ever since. I so enjoyed the people here that I decided move as close as possible, thus I live in Montgomery County. I love to read a good scifi book in my spare time, and also love to read science magazines, like National Geographic, Earth and Astronomy.
