The Office of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment is committed to advancing the mission of Powell County Schools by ensuring that every student experiences consistent, high-quality learning focused on strong instruction, student engagement, continuous growth, and the development of the skills needed for success in school and life.
Guided by our district vision to cultivate a learning community where collaboration, communication, contribution, and critical thinking empower every student, our office works to support schools, educators, and leaders through a comprehensive system of curriculum, instruction, assessment, and professional learning.
Our work encompasses curriculum development and implementation, instructional support, assessment and accountability systems, school and district improvement planning, professional learning, and services for gifted and talented students. We also provide leadership and oversight for key district initiatives and programs, including Title II, Part A; Extended School Services (ESS); educator professional learning and EILA coordination; state and local assessment programs; and other strategic initiatives that support student achievement and educator effectiveness.
Through collaboration, continuous improvement, and a shared commitment to excellence, we strive to ensure that every classroom provides meaningful learning experiences and that every student has the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed.
