Pupil Transportation

The Powell County Schools Department of Pupil Transportation is committed to providing the safest and most expedient mode of transportation possible for our students. Our motto is:  "Safety first, schedule second."

The Kentucky Legislature enacted new transportation laws that must be followed.  All parents must sign a document verifying they have read and understand the Transportation Services Policy.  This policy is found in our Code of Acceptable Behavior and Discipline and also linked on this webpage under the Documents tab.  It is titled Bus Safety Regulations.  Students who do not behave on the bus will not be allowed to ride the bus.  We need parent support and collaboration in order to safely transport all students to and from school and on school related trips.

We have added new supports to our transportation department.  Ms. Julie Clark is the new Transportation Supervisor.  She is your first line of communication if you need assistance with transportation.  She and Ms. Candace Elkins, our Transportation Area Assistant, will work to solve transportation needs.  Mr. Doug Brewer is our Chief Operations Officer overseeing the transportation department.
